2021-22 Annual Report | Endowment Gifts

Endowment gifts create lasting legacies of opportunity for future generations of Soleburians. Solebury is grateful to our families and their thoughtful, purpose-filled support of our school. Solebury School currently has 42 named endowments, including our two newest endowments, described below.

The Buttercup Endowed Fund for Scholarship

In the way that sun and dirt help flowers to flourish in their native habitat, the Buttercup Endowed Fund for Scholarship cultivates the growth of our faculty and staff’s children and dependents by providing need-based tuition support for enrollment at Solebury School. Established by an anonymous Solebury School family, this scholarship fund was created in honor of the dedication, commitment, and sacrifices of the Solebury School family and staff.

These funds are awarded with an appreciation for the Solebury community and with hopes of making a Solebury School education more accessible for the children and dependants of those who shape our school’s experience daily.

The dedication and commitment of our faculty and staff makes the Solebury School experience so profound. Now, we have an additional way to show support for these incredible adults and their families. This generous gift will provide critical tuition support for generations of students of faculty and staff. - Jennifer K. Burns, Assistant Head of School - Advancement and External Affairs

The David P. Prescott Family Foundation

Established by the David P. Prescott Family Foundation in recognition of the 25th reunion year of Elizabeth P. (Liz) Prescott D.V.M ’97, this scholarship fund supports first-time students at Solebury School who have attended a public school previously and are seeking to be a part of an intellectually challenging, supportive, and inclusive community.

“I am a strong believer in the value of education. So are my children, Kate and Liz, as was their late mother.” shared David Prescott. “My education gave me opportunities I would not have otherwise had. Given my financial situation, my children and I decided that others whose finances make independent education difficult or unattainable ought to have similar opportunities, so we created a foundation dedicated to financial assistance for students who want to further their education. My hope is that scholarship recipients begin or continue a journey of discovery about their unique interests, gifts and talents, about the world, and that each recipient will be stimulated to be a life-long learner.”
